I got this photo from my Aunt this weekend (their grand-daughter). Both Peter Schmidt and Anna-Maria Kambeitz were born in Kandel, Kuts., Russia, and I know that they came to Canada but I don't know when. All of their children came to Canada, or were born in Canada. Their children were Paul, George, John, Mary Eva, Regina, Tony, Peter, Joe, Sebastian, and Andreas. Paul was my grandfather.
Anna-Maria was the daughter of George Kambeitz and Marie-Anna Bertram. Peter Schmidt was the son of Johann Schmidt.
I am a descendant of Freidrich Kambeitz from Durmersheim. He was born 1766, I believe in Beitigheim. I believe Anna Maria Schmidt to be my great Aunt, certainly a relative. I'll have to refer to the site my fathers cousin developed GBKAM2 to be sure. I am developing the Kambeitz Family history ( specifically those from Russia)into a narrative form, possibly to become a film documentary. Stories and images are golden to me personally and to this pursuit. Freidrich and his descendants story is the story of all the Karlsruh immigrants, it's engaging and exciting.
